Advanous

This Henrico County company applies information technology to help distributors increase profits and boost profit margins.

Like its name implies, there’s a clear advantage to working with Advanous. Since 1999, large and mid-sized distributors across the nation have turned to this company to help improve their bottom line by managing pricing.

Through the use of analytics software called Point to Profit™, Advanous helps companies determine if they’re pricing products competitively and illustrates how to increase profit margins.

 Advanous CEO Erik Bleyl

Currently, there are few competitors in the price management field, but the need for companies like Advanous is growing due to the squeezing of profit margins by “sophisticated vendors, aggressive customers and a lack of sufficient internal pricing expertise, tools and targeted strategies to effectively manage and enhance margins. As a result, many distributors have experienced eroding margins despite their best efforts. Advanous was founded to

provide distributors with margin enhancement insights and the tactics and strategies necessary to reverse these negative trends and increase margins,” explains the Advanous Web site.

“For every dollar that you pay us, we’ll return $9,” continues Erik Bleyl, Advanous president and CEO. “We’re very proud of the fact that our customers are getting great returns. [We show them] how to find money in existing accounts and how to grow those accounts.”

Advanous clients currently include several leading Fortune 1000 companies and other large and mid-sized distributors in the medical, electrical, food, industrial, paper, plumbing/HVAC and office supply markets.
